Privacy Policy

EISOL LLC (“we”) explains below how information is handled by michimikke on the web and in the iOS and Android apps (the “Service”).

1. Outing search and conversation

The Service sends search text, selected category, radius, display language, messages sent to Michi, and the selected map center to our API over encrypted connections. Before transmission, the center is rounded to two decimal places (roughly a one-kilometer grid); the API rejects more precise coordinates. Precise device location and device identifiers are not sent to search or conversation APIs.

Our server may send the rounded area or search text to OpenStreetMap providers to obtain public place facts. Those providers do not receive the user's device IP address. We may retain public facts such as facility names, addresses, categories, and source attribution for quality and reliability. We do not persistently store search text or conversation messages linked to a user.

2. Current-area search and on-site check-in on iOS and Android

The iOS and Android apps request precise device location only with operating-system permission and after you start current-area search or an on-site check-in. For search, the map center is rounded to two decimal places before transmission. For check-in, location is compared once with the selected place only on the device. Precise coordinates, accuracy, distance, and the on-site decision are not sent to our server or a place provider and are not stored. The Web version does not obtain precise device location. You can use the map, manual search, conversation, and place information without granting location access.

3. Information stored on the device

“Want to go” choices, checked-in places, companion names, and visit dates are stored locally by the browser or app. The current Service does not create a user account or sync these records to our server. They can be removed by clearing site/app data or uninstalling the app.

The apps' Weekend reminder and, in app versions that offer them, Day-before reminders are scheduled on the device by the operating system's notification feature, only when you turn them on. Events shown in a reminder, and the public details of an event opened from one, are fetched the same way as the app's ordinary list. Reminders do not register your area or “Want to go” choices with our server and use no notification delivery token. Turn them off at any time in My page.

3-2. Optional regional updates

When regional updates become available, adults who opt in may register a selected prefecture or municipality, language, a destination for their chosen method (email address, LINE user identifier, or device push token), and records needed for consent, confirmation, and stopping delivery. We do not ask for a home address, postal code, GPS location, or children's information. Local region settings are not automatically registered for delivery. These records are used only to send verified official events for the chosen region, generally once a week. We do not send an update when there are no suitable candidates.

Email subscriptions become active only after the confirmation link sent to the address is opened. App notifications require you to choose updates after reviewing the region and content, and to allow notifications in the operating system. Stop at any time through the email's unsubscribe link or the app's regional notification settings. We erase the destination from our live data when the stop request is accepted. Confirmation links expire after 24 hours. Daily maintenance removes unconfirmed registrations within 48 hours of the request, hashes and region/consent records within 31 days of stopping, and delivery results without destinations within 91 days.

You can sign up for regional LINE updates only when the registration page shows them as available. You must log in with LINE, add our official account as a friend, and explicitly agree to delivery for your chosen area. Logging in or adding the account alone does not register an area. ID and access tokens are sent to our API and LINE to verify your identity and friendship status; we do not retain these tokens in our database or logs. We compare identifiers using LINE’s profile API to check that the access token belongs to the same person, but do not save your display name, picture, or email address in subscription records. View or change your area and stop delivery on the same registration page. When LINE notifies us that you blocked our official account, we also stop delivery and erase our destination record. Unblocking alone does not restart delivery. The retention and deletion periods above also apply to LINE destinations, area and consent records, and delivery results.

If you explicitly send the Japanese phrase “今週末のイベント” on LINE, we reply with suggestions for your subscribed area. If you are not subscribed, prefecture buttons let you choose an area for that request only. Subscribers can also temporarily choose another prefecture. We process the LINE user identifier, reply token, explicit command and temporary prefecture selection to provide the reply, but do not retain the command text, chat history or temporary selection in our database or logs. This action does not save an area or enroll you in weekly delivery. This reply feature does not retain or use other conversation messages, GPS or location information. “今週末のイベント” in the official account's menu uses the same reply feature.

When you add our official account as a friend, we reply once with how to use it and prefecture buttons. To reply, we process the LINE user identifier and reply token but do not retain them in our database or logs. Adding the account alone does not register an area or enroll you in weekly delivery. Unblocking the account does not restart weekly delivery by itself.

Destinations are encrypted in our database; secret confirmation, management, and unsubscribe values are stored as verification hashes. For delivery, we send the email address and message to Resend, the LINE user identifier and message to LY Corporation, or the device token and notification to Apple Push Notification service or Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging. Starting LINE login loads LINE's SDK and connects to LINE's services. On Android, enabling notifications also lets Firebase process installation identifiers needed for delivery. These providers may process information in the United States and other countries, and their retention periods differ from those for our live data. See Resend's Privacy Policy, LY Corporation's Privacy Policy, Apple's Privacy Policy, and Firebase's privacy information. Destinations and authentication or confirmation tokens are not sent to analytics; the registration page does not use analytics. We do not add email open tracking or recipient-specific click tracking. Emails are sent as text and HTML; the HTML has no images or other remote resources, so we cannot tell whether an email was opened. Event links in emails and LINE messages carry a channel parameter (such as utm_source=email or utm_source=line) but nothing that identifies the recipient.

4. Technical logs and retention

Delivery infrastructure records IP address, user agent, request time, connection details, and error information in technical logs for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. The current standard retention period is 30 days. We do not use this information for advertising, behavioral analytics, or user profiling. We do not collect precise user coordinates, advertising IDs, or a developer-assigned device ID.

4-2. Public web analytics and external data transmission

The Service is intended for adults, including parents and guardians choosing family outings. On public home, event, area, facility, and information pages accessed from Japan, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC in the United States, with analytics cookies. We disclose this processing here and provide an opt-out below, without a consent popup or age-check screen. The map, search, and chat Web app, the demo, and the native iOS and Android apps are excluded from this analytics.

We measure public page views, clicks toward official sites, city and facility listings, the Web app, app stores and the app page, and use of the buttons that send an event to family on LINE or X, add it to a calendar, add our LINE official account, open the updates sign-up page, our public social accounts, or RSS, to improve our information. Only which button was used is recorded, never the calendar entry or anything about your friends. The recipient is Google LLC. Data includes canonical public page URLs and titles, language, page and link categories, allowlisted referring domains, cookie identifiers, and browser and connection information. Your IP address also reaches Google as part of the connection. Google uses this information to provide its analytics service and as described in the policies linked below. We do not send URL queries or fragments, full destination URLs, precise location, search text, chat messages, or on-device plans. We do not collect children's names or dates of birth for analytics. We do not use Google signals, advertising personalization, or advertising integrations.

Our hosting provider determines the connection's country from its IP address. We load the Google tag only for connections identified as Japan, regardless of language or nationality, without requesting device location. Outside Japan, or if the country is unknown or the check fails, we do not load the Google tag, set analytics cookies, or send cookieless measurement requests.

Analytics cookies (names beginning with mm_ga) last at most 180 days without automatic renewal. GA4 user-level and event-level retention is two months; aggregated reports have separate retention. Processing by Google may take place in the United States and other countries.

You can disable analytics for this browser below at any time. Disabling stops measurement and removes this site's analytics cookies. We also preserve refusals made through the earlier consent screen. Your preference is stored in browser localStorage until you change it or clear site data. We keep analytics off if preferences cannot be saved or Global Privacy Control is enabled. Disabling analytics does not restrict use of the Service.

5. Maps, official information, and links

“Put it in your calendar” on an event page gives your device a file (.ics) with the published date, venue, source and page link from our server. Choosing Google Calendar opens Google's page with the same public facts in its URL, after which Google's privacy policy applies. Neither includes anything that identifies you. The policies of LINE and of X, Instagram and Threads apply after you open our accounts there.

A facility's policy applies after you open its external website. The Service has no advertising SDK, behaviorally targeted advertising, Google Maps SDK, microphone access, or voice conversation.

6. Purposes and disclosure

We use information to provide maps, search, conversation, events, check-in, regional updates you request, quality, security, troubleshooting, and public web analytics disclosed in this policy. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party behaviorally targeted advertising, and do not disclose it for unrelated purposes except where required by law.

7. Adult audience and children's information

The Service is intended for adults, including parents and guardians who choose outings, make reservations, and decide what to do on site. It is not intended for independent use by children; a parent or guardian should operate it and make decisions. We do not ask for age or date of birth for public web analytics. Contact us below if you believe personal information has been collected from a child. We will review the report and take necessary steps to stop collection or delete information. A parent or guardian should review external facility websites.
